Letters depend on clinical assessment
A letter is issued only where a GMC-registered doctor considers it clinically appropriate after reviewing the information you provide. Submitting a request and paying a fee does not entitle you to a letter. Where a letter cannot be issued on clinical grounds, our refund position is set out in our terms of use.
A letter does not create legal rights
There is no official register of emotional support animals in the UK, and an emotional support animal is not an assistance dog. A letter from a doctor can support a request you make to a landlord, university, employer or other organisation. Whether that request is granted is their decision, made under their own policies and the law that applies to them. We cannot guarantee that any letter will be accepted.
